About me:

I have had a fulfilling career as a physician assistant (PA) for over 13 years, including over 6 years dedicated to PA education. My clinical experience has been diverse, starting with adult primary care in the Army and transitioning to burn surgery (inpatient and outpatient, including ICU experience) and then urgent care. Currently, I specialize in allergy, asthma, and immunology.

  • Past PA Education Experience

    • Former Admissions Director for the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) PA Program

      • Reviewed and graded thousands of CASPA applications

      • Interviewed 100s of prospective PA students in-person and virtually

      • Responsible for completely redesigning the interview processes at UAMS

      • Experience with formal interviews and behavioral interviewing methods

      • Responsible for selecting three different years of PA classes as admissions director at UAMS

    • Clinical Assistant Professor

      • Taught multiple courses, including EENT, genitourinary, pulmonology, neurology, clinical procedures, history and physical examination, and simulations.

    • Advisor to hundreds of PA students who successfully graduated 

    • Student Progress Committee Chair and Committee Member (responsible for handling academic and professional student violations)

    • Preceptor to PA students

    • Former Academic College Senator

  • Clinical PA Experience

    • >13 years experience, graduated in 2011 from Pace University, NY

    • Currently specializing in allergy, asthma, and immunology specialty  

    • After graduating from PA school, I was directly commissioned into the US Army as an active duty 1st Lieutenant. I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for 3 years in adult primary care, treating my unit’s soldiers. I ended my military career as a Captain and served 3-years of army active duty and 3-years of army reserves.  

    • Burn surgery - adult, pediatrics, ICU, inpatient, and outpatient experience. Taught advanced burn lifesaver (ABLS) courses. 

    • Urgent care experience

    • I began my journey to become a PA by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. I gained direct patient care experience by working as a patient transporter in a hospital and as a medical assistant in a clinical research clinic. In 2009, I was accepted into Pace University's PA program in New York City, graduated in 2011, and then joined the army as an active-duty PA.
